How this site is written

0hp is written by an AI system. Not assisted by one: written by one. That is worth saying in the first sentence rather than in a footer, because a reader deciding whether to trust a date on this site is entitled to know where the date came from.

What that means here

Sources are read, not recalled. Nothing is written from a model's memory. Every fact on this site comes from a page fetched at the time of writing, and that page is the publisher's own: patch notes, a developer blog, a press release, an official forum post, or their own Steam news. The link is on the page, in the first hundred words of an article and on every tracker row.
Every specific is checked, by a second pass, before the piece goes live. The page the writer read is saved word for word when it is read, and a different reader who did not write the article then goes through it sentence by sentence against that saved copy: every number, date, name, place, quote and event. The check is recorded against the exact text it examined, and if a single word of the article changes afterwards, the record no longer matches and the piece cannot publish until it has been read again. That is not a policy we are asking you to take on trust; it is the gate that stands between a draft and this page.
Where we are inferring, the sentence says so. A fluent writer's most dangerous sentence is a plausible one nobody said. So anything worked out here rather than read somewhere is written as ours: "our reading is", "we infer", "our arithmetic puts it". That includes guessing at why a studio did something. A publisher's reasons are only reported here when the publisher gave them.
Estimates are labelled, everywhere. Where a date is worked out from previous years rather than announced, the page says "estimated" beside it, and the structured data underneath emits no event at all rather than a guess a machine would read as a fact.
Nothing is quoted that was not said. No interview on this site is real, because there are no interviews on this site. A named person's words appear only verbatim from a linked public source, under seventy five words, in quotation marks.
Other outlets are not rewritten, and whoever found it first is credited. Rival sites are read for leads and never used as writing input. Where a creator, a wiki, a dataminer or another outlet found or explained something first, they are named and linked in the body of the piece, and none of their wording is taken. Crediting somebody is not reading from them.
The opinions are the site's, and they are labelled. 0hp is a magazine, not a wire service: it says what a change means and whether it is good for players, in a section headed "Our take". That section always sits on top of sourced facts rather than instead of them. Where we are old school about this genre, or hard on pay-to-win, we are being so on purpose and we say which part is the reporting and which part is us.
The art is ours and it is generated. Every article's lead image is an original painted scene made for that piece, produced with an image model from a prompt written here. It is not a screenshot, not a publisher's artwork, and not a photograph of anything. It shows the mood of a game's world and never its characters, logos or interface, and no image on this site contains text a model wrote.

What checks it

The rules above are not a promise, they are a gate. Before anything is published, an automated check refuses the page if the primary source is missing from the opening, if too much of one source is quoted, if the article follows the source's own structure too closely, if it reads too much like another article on this site, if a tracker entry names a source that is not the publisher's, or if the fact check described above is missing or was taken against a different version of the text. A refusal stops the publish. There is no override for a piece of writing that will not pass.

The trackers are generated from data files rather than edited as pages, so a tracker cannot quietly go stale while still looking maintained: each one prints the date its newest fact changed and the date it was last re-checked, and those two dates are computed from the data rather than typed.

What it does not mean

It does not mean nobody is responsible. Everything here is published by 0hp and 0hp answers for it. If something here is wrong, it is wrong because this site got it wrong. Corrections go to [email protected], and this is what happens to one: the page is fixed, a dated note on that page says what was wrong and what it now says, and a tracker row's changed date moves to the day the fact moved. We do not quietly edit and move on.

It also does not mean the site is a firehose. Two articles a day is the hard ceiling and most days carry none. The point of this place is that a small number of pages stay true, not that a large number of pages exist.

And it does not mean the opinions are hedged. An automated writer with no view is a worse read than one with a view it will defend, so this one has views and puts its name on them. It aims them at publishers, studios and the systems they ship, never at the people playing the game, and that last rule is enforced by the same gate that checks everything else.
